Whew it has been a while! I got lucky and picked up some shifts at work, plus a short-term nanny job. All in all, craziness! But I have been keeping up with my training.
I'm still slow... the closer we get, the scarier it is becoming. Oy. Maybe I should have done Honolulu ;). Dad said to look on the bright side, "well, even if you can't finish, at least you'll be picked up by a bus with Marines on it. Maybe they'll be cute and can intro you to their officers." Uhhh... thanks dad???
On the day of mile 12, the realization was made that I might have asthma... which was confirmed later that week. Since I have discovered that the prescribed inhaler does not last longer that two hours. Considering I kind of need to breathe past two hours until I can re-puff at four hours... I'll be calling my doc to find out what to do about this particular situation. I never need an inhaler otherwise, and anything less than two hours, the inhaler works great. But that was quite the find! I had childhood asthma, so I'm surprised it took me as long as it did to figure out why my breathing wasn't regulating as well as it should have. But! Entirely dealable.
This coming week shall be interesting. I'm working Monday-Thursday in the mornings and I have my mom here all week. This week is KEY in getting in my runs as Saturday is 18 miles. Yup. You heard me right. 18 miles. HOLY SMOKES. Even I can't believe it.
But I am still trucking on!
